DROVING FEES.
A REDUCTION AGREED UPON. The organising secretary, Air D. Ht bontou, reported at a meeting of the Alasterton branch of the Farmers’ Union that a committee “had met representatives of the drovers, aiul a, reduction in fees had been arranged after several conferences with tlie men, and he hoped the meeting would approv'd of the re--commeudations. Mr .Hebenton went on to say that it had been decided that the rate lor country droving should be 25s per day for two or more days. For early morning \t rucking the rate would be Ibis fe first, and 2s 6d for each additional truck. Where a drover took a mob of sheep to tho trucking yards during the day and trucked, straight away, the charge, including tracking and droving, would be £1 tip to two trucks, and 2s 6d for each, additional truck. Where the drover was delayed at the trucking yards, through no truck being available or other causes over which he had no control, necessitating his return in the afternoon to truck, the charge the afternoon to truck, tile charge would bo £l, and 2s 6d for each truck. ft was resolved to agree to the arrangements made by the committee, which was thanked for its labours.
