Electric Telegraph—Press Association Copyright. London, Last Night. The “Daily Chronicle” says that • there are imminent rumours of the abdication of the King of Italy. Such rumours often have been current since Caporetto. It is true that his popularity is not greater than .in pre-war days, despite his democratic tendencies and the surrender of the crown lands and palaces, there are no signis of the imminent overturning of the monarchy. The King has often' said that he would be willing to abdicate if it would promote the people’s well-being.
