Referring to the official statement i regarding the proposed future pensions and allowances for soldier* and 1 their dependents Mr Armstnong. president of the National Federation of j the Second Division Leagues, said the highest quoted were very bald, but taken on their taoe value they showed an inadequacy that fully justified the anxiety of member* of the League througliout the Dominion regarding the Ministerial attitude toward- the League’s proposals. It was impossible! to deal with details because adjustment* would alter «i*o.*. Adjust- | monts, however, could not. alter taots. an*l the total indicated that the provision- proposed must be hopeles-lv ; inadequate. It was sincerely to l>e hoped that as a result of last night s oontorenec the Government would reconsider tlie whole matter.
