It is reported here that the Butisa cruiser Drake captured the German cruiser Roon after a three hours* fight off the Bermuda Islands. Two merchantmen are reported to have been seized, but the British Embassy is unable to verify the report. NEW ZEALAND CASUALTIES. A TOTAL OF 8223. Wellington, Tills Day. The removal of a large number of names from the missing’ list to the death list as the result of the Board of Enquiry investigations lias made a change in the appearance of the summarised New Zealand casualty list. The latest issued to-day shows: Off icers: dead I2TT. missing 12, wounded 217. a total of 349.
Other ranks: Dead 2471. mi-sing 120 .prisoners of war. 23. wounded 5260, a total of 7874. The grand total is thus 8223.
