AN ERROR OF JUDGMENT.

Electric Telegraph—Press Association. Napier; Last Night. The magisterial inquiry into the loss of the steamer Squall, near East Cape, was concluded to-day. The Court held that the loss appeared to he caused by an error cfi judgment on the part of Captain Vasta in not verifying the distance from Horoera Point and not making sufficient allowance for the set of the ebb tide. The captain was ordered to pay the oo»t*s of tlie inquiry, but no order was made as to any of the certificates of the officers.
