WODVIIiLE COUNTY COUNCIL

At |the last meeting of the Woodville County Council, the matter of a new bridge on Foley’s, road was left in the hands of the Riding members. The Kumeroa members thanked the Chairman for his prompt action in attending to the culvert at Kemp’s. The Chairman’s action in having the Harding’s road bridge repaired was endorsed.

Cr. McPherson mentioned that some holes on the Otawbao road had not been filled in. The road at Mr Druce’s bridge had sunk and the metal required raking in. The chairman reported that the overdraft had been wiped ouit. •Mr A .Thomson, Kumeroa, wrote for permission to cut the grass seed on the roads in Kumeroa, and offering to pay what it was worth. —The matter was left in the hands of Riding members to make the best arrangements.

Tliei Plapatawa School picnic was held in Mr J. B. Cunninghame's jraddock on Pinfold Road. A social was held at night. The dance music was supplied by Miss McKinley and Mr Ebbett and extras were played by Mrs Curry and Mi- Peck. Mr Curry acted as M.C. Vocal items were rendered by Mesdames Pryde, O’Donnel and Hannah.

At a meeting of the Woodville Amateur Athletic Association Messrs Rose and Nicholas wet'© elected liandioappers, and Mr Nicholas starter. The following were appointed a Ground Committee: —Messrs E. R. prinlin.ton, F. Mills, R .Grinlinton, W. Eeoles, W. Brady, J. Murray and Cartwright. Mr Kenney was appointed timekeeper. Messrs Dixon, J. Murray, J. Cartwright and H. Crawford were appointed judges, and Mr Rose referee.
