The following special message has been received from the New Zealand official, 'war correspondent, dated February 1: Owing to the unusual dampness of the season. Lady Codley is removing her convalescent home to Helouan, near Cairo, in proximity to the natural hot baths. Colonel R. H. Rhodes will shortly finish his Work in Egypt. He has spared no effort to further the interest of officers and men. In view of possible contingencies it is the general desire of the Government to enable him to continue the excellent work he is now doing, as it is in the interests both .of New Zealanders and of the Empire.

STEEL FROM AUSTRALIA,.

Representatives of the Imperial Department oT Munitions have purchased five hundred tons of steel. This is the first occasion that steel has been manufactured here for the making of munitions in England.

Two warships searched in the vicinity of the reported Zeppelin disaster hut did not find the wreck. It is believed the Zeppelin has been sunk in the North Sea.
