The second wool sale of the season commenced to-day. The total offerigs were 24,777 bales, compared with 23,618 bales at the corresponding sale last year. The buyers’ benches were welj filled' and competition was exceptionally keen for practically every lot, except earthy and very wasty wools. It is expected that all overseas wool purchased at this sale will be got away before the end of next month.

Buyers have decided to postpone northern sales till they can see what shipping space is available for all the purchases in Dunedin.
