PALMERSTON SPRING SHOW.

Preparations for the big event on November 4th, sth and 6th are proceeding as usual. The schedules have been well adjusted and retain all the old divisional headings, but contain many additional items in the divisions. An open competition for the best gentleman rider in the Dominion is scheduled for the Ist day. This is new and is for three prize trophies only. The course is the same as the big hunters’ competition on the last day, and the event undoubtedly will create great interest. Mr Ben Myers, a well-known Auckland sport, gives the prize trophy, and is anxious that#his southern sporting brethren should endeavour to prove their ability to win and hold the prize. The live stock divisions are again well provided for with many specials, including the New Zealand Ayrshire Cattle Breeders’ Association championship gold medals. The N.I.N.Z. Sheepbreedei's .Association champion gold medals for Border Leicester and Shropshire rams are listed as are two of the handsome silver medals of the Shire Horse Society of Great Britain for shire stallion and mare. The' schedule is crowded with good prizes and little need be said of the Show itself—it is so widely and favourably known. It would be wise on the part of intending visitors to see that their accommodation is secured, a*> Palmerston North is a crowded town at Show time. Any information may be had on application to the secretary, Mr W. T. Penny, Box 85, Palmerston North.
