A "PROFESSOR' IN COURT.
FORTUNE-TELLING CHARGE. Electric Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Robert Heniy Gibson, styling himself “professor,” was committed for trial on a charge of fortune-telling. The evidence showed that he went from house to house and in the course of statements - to women folk undei-took to show them how to avoid having children. Evidence on those lines was not allowed to be developed, the Magistrate ruling it as irrelevant to the fortune-telling charges, but could form the basis of other charges. Gibson’s request to be dealt with summarily was refused, and he was committed for trial.
