PAHIATUA RIFLE CLUB.
OPENING OF THE SEASON. The Pahiatua Defence Rifle Club opened the season yesterday, on th© local range, in perfect weather. A good muster of members attended, amongst whom were several of the new recruits. Tho first match was a snap-slioting competition at figure, 200 yards, 4 seconds exposure (7 shots each). Sedcole was the only rifleman to hit the figure in each of the seven shots, one being a bulls-eye. King found the target four times, on three occasions registering a bulls-eye. A “bull” was also made by Olson. Following were tho scores: Sedcole 7 hits, Bolton and Debbie 5 each. King and Wokeman 4 each, Geange 3. Ashh.v 2. Olson, Bacon, Gibbons, Hughes and Carpenter 1 each, Bosworth and Howe 0. Casualty Match, teams of five, 5 shots each : Carpenter’s team (Carpenter, Debbie. Bosworth, Howe and Swainsori); 1 ; Clifton’s team. 2. _ Rapid fire at iron plates, 200yds. 5 shots (2 minutes): Ashby, 5, 1 ; King, 4; Davis, 3.
