W.C.T.U. MOVEMENT.
The monthly meeting of the Women's Christian Temperance Union Mas held in the Pahiatua Alethodist Church yesterday afternoon. The president (Airs Neal) was in the chair. The following appointments Mere made:—Airs A. Ross, secretory : Airs Paterson, evangelistic superintendent ; Mrs J. D. AYilson, superintendent of home meetings: Miss Wilton, superintendent of cradle roll work. Departmental letters were read from the New Zealand superintendents of hygiene, Maori work, Bible-in-schools, and good citizenship. Good citizenship Mas disc used, and members Mere urgtxl to remind women of their responsibilities as electors, that they may combine to support candidates, whether men or women, of high moral principle, and such as are likely to have at heart tlie highest welfare of the whole community as a whole, and especially of the school children. The conditions under wjtich the children are trained for citizenship, it was urged, should be a matter of supremo imtsirtanee to overtone concerned in the future welfare of the community, the contention 1 icing that the education of the young upon right lint's and amidst pure surroundings must he tlio main factor in the building up of a rightMM community. It Mas decided that future meetings commence at 3 o'clock.
