DEVELOPING THE INDUSTRY. Electric Telegraph— Press Association Auckland, Last Night. Two blocks of land comprising over 11,000 acres in the North Auckland district have been purchased by the Nelson Fruit Lands Development Company for subdivision into orchards. The purchase has just been completed. The company began its operations in the Nelson district three years ago, and in that period lias planted over 35.000 trees in over 300 orchards. Its scheme of operations is comparable with the system of placing fruit-farm-ers on Crown lands, with the important difference that the owners pf sections do not take u ptlieir lands until the trees have reached the bearing stage.
