IMPORTED TIMBER.
AMERICAN v. CANADIAN. DIFFERENCE IN PRICE. Electric Telegranh—Press Association CoDyrischt. Ottawa, Last Night. Mr A. E. Beddoe, Canadian Trade Commissioner for New Zealand, points out that the United State® supplied nearly the whole of the timber that New Zealand imported during the year. The fact that the Canadian prices are higher than the American is believed to be the cause. Mr Beddoe urges the Canadian lumbermen to cut the prices in order to secure the valuable trade offered. The Pacific Coast lumbermen assert that the timber over produced in the. United States enables the lumbermen there to dump timber in New Zealand.
