STRIP GOVERNMENT OF POWER IN TRANSVAAL COUNCIL. Electric Telegranh—Press Association Copyright,. London, Last Night. Members of the Government and the Dutch Opposition in the Transvaal Provincial Council withdrew from the proceedings because the Labour Party was forcing through legislation which was declared to be ultra vires by the Crown Law officers. The Labourites remained and passed the Bills, which deprive the Government of nearly all its powers.
