Independent liberal: Dr. Thacker, of Christchurch, med ica 1 practition or. BODY FOUND. Wellington, Last Night. Yesterday afternoon the body of a man was seen floating near the Taranaki street wharf. When recovered by the police it was found to be much decomposed, rendering identification a matter of difficulty. Later the body was identified as that of Leonard Price, a wharf labourer, formerly residing in Frederick street. He was last seen on Friday, the 21st inst. TRAM ACCIDENT. David McQuinton was knocked down by a tram in Willis street last night and seriously injured. Ho was taken to the hospital, but the exact nature of his hurts is not yet ascertainable. McQuinton is still unconscious this morning. PRESBYTER!AN ANNIVERSARY. Special services were held to-day to commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of St. John’s Presbyterian Church. A very large congregation attended at the morning service, the Rev. A. Cameron, Moderator of the New Zealand Assembly, being the pieacher. BUTTER AND CHEESE. Invercargill, Last Night. The steamer Kia Ora sailed from tha Bluff on Saturday for Pioton, taking a record shipment of butter and cheese from the port. The cargo included 2637 crates of cheese and 7540 boxes of butter from the Otago factories and 8935 crates of cheese from the Southland factories. She has also a considerable quantity of other country produce on board.
