PENNY TO TWOPENCE LOWER. Electric Telegraph—Press Association Napier, This Day. Tile first wool sale of the season was held to-dav before a full bench of buyers, numbering 39. The catalogues totalled 14,820 hales, as against 12,000 offered at the first sale last season. Prices showed a drop of a penny to twopence, in sympathy with the Auckland sale. Competition was kis'ii up to a certain figure, hut a large quantity was passed in the hope of all early rise in prices. The wool was nob nearly in such good condition as last year, being heavy in grease.
