TO TRAVEL PAHIATUA AND THB SURROUNDING DISTRICTS. The Purebred Clydesdale Stallion, N.Z.S.B. LAIRD OF ARDENCAPLE. (Bred by R. D. D. McLean, Eaq., Hawke’s Bay.) Laird of ardencaple is • very superior, well-bred bay horse of the very best quality and true type of the Clydesdale breed, standing about 17 hands high. Although only years old he is a very massive horse, with clean, flat bone*, strong, well-formed joints, beautiful long silky hair, and grandly-formed, round circular feet of good quality, with fine, broad hoof heads. He has a beautiful head, neck and creet, wellsprung ribs and strong, short coupled back; while his action, both at the walk and trot, is all that can be desired. Altogether, he is a well-put-together specimen of a draught horse LAIRD OF ARDENCAPLE was foaled on October 24th, 1909. His sire was the imported Clydesdale stallion Clydebank (481); first dam Maraekakaho Nelly 11. (1092); sire, Rutherford (386) (imp.); second dam, Lady Nelly (1088); sire, British Lyon (270) (imp.); third dam, Blossom (549); sire, Prince Arthur. Prince Arthur’s sire was Campsie (119) imp.). Laird of Ardenoaple|s sire, Clyde bank, won two championship awards at Timarii and three at Hawke’s Bav. besides numerous other awards. His darn, Maraekakalio IVellv 11., was exhibited three times at the Hawke’s Bay Show, securing first award each time.
