YFSCHINSKY RITUAL TRIAL
Electric Telegraph—Press Association CopvrUrht. Kieff, East Night. The ritual trial in connection with the trial for murder of the lad Yushchinsky commences to-day. Vladimir Makalaoff, a brother of the Minister of the Interior, will defend Bieliss. Odessa, Last Night. Tho “Black Hundred” has resolved to repress all revolutionary symptoms in consequence of the trial, oven if another St. Bartholomew massacre results.
In connection with the arrest in April, 1912, of a Jewish lad named Yiislichinsky at Kieff on a charge of murder, an attempt was made by AntiSemites to revive the hideous charge of ritual murder known as the “Blood Accusation” against Judaism and the Jewish people. Protests against the charge were signed by leading Christian theologians, men nof letters, scientists and politicians in Russia, the United Kingdom, France and Germany, the signatories to the British protest including the Anglican and Roman Catholic Archbishops, the Ihikes of Norfolk and Northumberland, the Earl of Halsbury and Earl Roberts, Mr Balfour, and many leaders of science, art and literature.
