CHEAP HARDWARE.

It is announced that Mr Arthur Hopwood, ironmonger, of Palmerston North, has formed his business into a limited liability company, to he worked under the style of “The Arthur Hopwood Hardware Co., Ltd.” The objects of the company are to buy hardware at “preferential prices,” to reduce the cost of “handling” la-tween manufacturer and consumer. An up-to-date two-storeyed hulk store is now la-ing erected alongside their show-rooms, which run from the Square right through to Cuba street. At Foxton. a wharf arid storage shed is being arranged for on the water front. 'Hie company states that most satisfactory arrangement*! have been made for buying hardware, the manufacturers in America and England having placed the company on bedrock rates, which can only he obtained by guaranteeing to take large quantities. The Arthur Hopwood Hardware On., Ltd., is to ho congratulated on its enterprise, and there is little doubt that its efforts to tiring down the eo«t of hardware to the consumer will Is- recognised by increased business from the firm’s many friends and customers in this district.
