The game was finished in threequarters of an hour, the visitors winning by an innings and 104 runs. Mayne played a splendid defensive innings lasting 214 minutes for 84, and hit eight fours. Douglas bowled finely and the fielding was brilliant. The following is the bowling analysis in the last innings:—Foster 1 for 24, Douglas 5 for 65, Vine 0 for 40, Woolley 2 for 37, Rhodes 0 for 16, Hobbs 0 for 4.
