SERIOUS MOTOR CAR ACCIDENT

A serious accident occurred to Mr Lynn McKelvie’s motor car, with seven occupants, while going home from the Bulls sale yesterday afternoon. The car had reached some distance beyond Parewanui school, when a horse, jumping from a fence, came into collision, with the car and it capsized, the whole of the occupants of the car being more or less severely injured. Dr. Watson was telephoned for, and Dr. Martin, from Palmerston North, arrived shortly alter. An ambulance was sent for, abid two of those injured were taken to Palmerston hospital, the other sufferers being attended tc 011 the spot. Among the occupants, beside Mr L. McKelvie, were the Messrs Amon (2), J. Sims, Atkinson and two others. Sam. Amon. had a thigh broken, and Bert. Amon his ankle broken. The others escaped more lightly. The car was badly injured and the horse killed.
