A POPULAR BANK MANAGER.
Electric Telegraph—Press Association. Feilding, July 30. A complimentary dinner was given last night to Mr E. A. Barton, who has just resigned the managership of the Bank of Australasia here after holding the position for twenty years. The presentation consisted of a rolled top desk and silver salver. Mr E. Gcodbehere presided. Customers of the bank and leading citizens were present. Complimentary speeches were made by the chairman, ex-Mayor Haggitt. and others, referring to the happy relations always existing between Mr Barton and the bank’s customers. In reply Mr Barton said his position had been pleasant owing to the financial stability of the customers' and the district. He had no intention to leave the district, but was going into business here. Other speeches referred to the progress and prosperity of the Feilding district.
