Sir Henry Campbell says that tiie Government intend to pass tw<? aytwo more bills, including the Merchants Shipping Tonnage, Australian States Constitution and Evidence on Colonial Statutes Bills. He considers that it- is possible to pass another seventeen bills if the Opposition is not extreme. Mr A. Balfour considers that such a. programme is ludicrous. Supporters or the Deceased Wife’s Sister Bill intend to appeal to the Government, to pass the measure through. The Butter Bill was read a third time, after Sir F. W. Lowes’ amendment to limit the moisture of milkblended to 16 per cent, had been defeated by 133 votes to 22. Several other amendments were also negatived. Tlie Hon. J. Burns promised that the Government would insert a clause of eight words providing that the wrappers for milk-blended shall setout the percentage of moisture therein. NATIONALIST RESIGNS. London, July 28. Sir T. Grattan Esmonde, Nationalist member for North Wexford, has resigned his seat in the House of Commons.
