PAHIATUA MOUNTED RIFLES
ANNUAL BALL. Aery keen interest is being taken in the preparations tor the- -counted Rifles Ball, which takes place tomorrow night. The gathering promises to be a representative one, and evidential ot the good teeling existing between the Pahiatua corps and their comrades in arms. A'isitors are coming trom AVanganui, Alasterton. Eketaluina. AA'ellington and AVocdville, and the variety ot uniforms will add to the brilliance of the gather Dancing will commence with mili precision at 8.15 p.m.. to the straijis of a refrain from Hunter's string hand, and will open with the grand march and lancers. - Jbe 24th inst. promises to be a red letter date amongst social functions, and w< predict an unprecedented success tor the mounted men. who take a delight in providing hospitality and are true sports in the best sense ot the. word.
