The officers and crew have landed. (The Alontagu lias a di-placement! of 14,000 tons, and was built at Dovonport in 1903. She has a complement of 750 men). (Received this day at 7.42 a.m.) The Alontagu struck heavily and lies across a ledge. Her bottom has been pierced in several places. Soma of the crew sustained broken aruf and other injuries. (Received this day at 8.44 a.ni.) The Alontagu struck a point when* the Santa Catharina was wrecked— a circumstance mentioned in King-ley’* “Westward Ho!” THE LISAIORE. London, May 31. A vessel, supposed to be tlie Lismore. is stranded at Santa Maria Island, Chili. Twenty-two of tl.o crew were drowned. (Received this day at 8.44 a.ni.) The insurance oil the Li-more totalled £IB.OOO.
