The owners of the steamer claim £7OOO, and tlie owners of tlie barque £7500. ANOTHER CREEP. A serious creep has occurred in the Central Mine, Broken Hill, which is also affecting the block 10 mini*. Miners have been withdrawn from both mines. At the Central Aline the floor of the mill sunk three feet, throwing the plant out of gear. A H! F.STATE. Melbourne, May 31. The estate of tho bile Mr I,unsell, of Bendigo, a mining magnate, is valued for probate uf £600.000. SETTLEMENT SCIIEAIE. .Melbourne, Afay 31. Ministers to-day completed a scheme for combining irrigation with wheat-growing along tho Murray River frontages. Homesteads will he granted along the river front, of about forty acres in extent, twenty of which will he irrigated. Eaeli homestead will have additions of lour hundred acres of inferior land. The charge for irrigation water will not exceed fifteen gallons per acre per annum.
