The entries for the Woodville PoulI try Association’s show are as follow: Poultry, 563; pigeons, 29; canaries, ! 9; birds. 7 ; sundries. 3. Mr Hooker, of Hawera. was in i Woodville on Tuesday evening, and ; delivered a very interesting address ; on poultry breeding, dealing with | various phases of this branch of the j poultry industry. The lecture was given under the auspices of the W oodville Poultry Association, and was greatly appreciated. Air Hooker also gave an exhibition of poultry dressing, which excited considerable interest among those present, who greatly appreciated the demonstration. A great manv valuable points were shown by Air Hooker with regard to the poultry industry, and I understand that several of the local poultry breeders have noted the infnrmation received, and are taking steps to j make use of it Pile Red. \\ bite and Blue Assembly held one of their series of social and : dances, to he held during the winter j evenings, in tlie Foresters’ Hall last | evening, and. despite the unfavourable nature of the weather, was well ! attended, the floor during tho dances being taxed to its utmost capacity, j The music, which was supplied by I members of tho assembly, was of an J excellent nature, and rendered dancing highly enjoyable. Light refreshments in abundance wore handed round about 11 o (’lock, and done just 100 to. after which dancing was resumed and continued until about midnight, when the gathering dispersed, all present- having thoroughly enjoyed themselves. During the evening songs were rendered hy Airs McCormick. AIL.. Haines and Air W'nrnor. all of which were greatly appreciated. Air Wilton contributed a recitation, which was well received. Air Bright well made nil efficient AI.C.
