TRANSFERS AND PROMOTIONS. PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. Wellington, May 30. The following transfers and promo tions 'll the Police Force for tlie colony have been decided: — Sergeant Williams, Auckland, goes to Invercargill, vice Sergeant Bowden, who takes charge of the new station at t eliding : Constable Dart, who lias neon iemporarily in charge of the instructing department at Mount Cook depot. Wellington, permanently appointed to that position, and promoted to tlio rank of Sergeant; Sergeant Higgins, Dunedin transferred to Lawrence, vice Sergeant Bowman, transferred to Timaru; Sergeant Miller, of Gore, transferred to Masterton, to replace Sergeant O'Malley, who retires on a pension: Acting Detective Hollis, of Auckland, promoted to Detective; Constable N\ Abbot, of Wellington South, promoted to Sergeant, and transferred to Auckland; Constable J. Foster, of Feilding, promoted pSergeant, and transferred to Dunedin ; Constable A. T. Emerson, ol Arrowtown, promoted to Sergeant,
