PAHIATUA RIFLES.

A meeting ol the Shooting Committee was held last evening. Arrangements were made for the match with the Mounted Rifles on June 4th.

It was decided to shoot with 10 men, and if the Mounted Rifles coultl only raise a team ot eight men, that the Pahiatua Rifles count the eight top scores. The ranges are: 200. >OO and 000 yards; 7 shots, with sigliler at each. Shooting will commence at the Pahiatua Rifles range at 10 a.m. sharp, and there will be three targets in use. The following will represent the Pahiatua Rifles: Lieutenants Procter and Wilson, Sergeants G. Nowell, E. C. Vowell and Phillips, Corporals Lang and Reeve, and Privates Hamilton, Hughes and Bryant; emergencies, Privates Kbbett amt Ward. Any man unable to compete is requested to notify Lieutenant Procter not later than Friday evening.

A practice will be held on Saturday afternoon, when every man selected is requested to attend. Shooting commences at 1.30 sharp. It, was decided to fire a series ot matches on fine Saturdays, commencing on Saturday, June 9th. No. 1 match, 200, 500, 000 yards; 7 shots and sigliter at each distance; No. 2 match, 500 and 700 yards, 10 shots and sigliter at each distance: No. 3 match, 300 and 500 yards. 10 shots, and sigliter at each distance: No. 4 match. 000 yards, 10 shots with sigliter. Nos. 1,2. and 3 matches handicap. Two matches out ul No. 1. 2 and 3 to count with No. 4 match tor aggregate prizes were allotted as follows: Ist prize, gold and silver medal with 10s; 2nd prize, 7s; 3rd prize, ss; 4th prize, 4s; sth prize. 2s Gd. A gold and silver medal goes to winner of No. 4 match. Shooting in the various matches commence at 1.30 sharp; no entries after first range is finished. Entrance Is per man per match. Handicaps will he sealed. Every mar. in the corps is requested to roll up, as it will assist to get class bring finished, and enable a good team being got together for next summer.
