A find of coins was recently made at tho I'.liatliiiin Islands on the Whore* kauri Estate, evidently belonging ro a Maori wiio had boon trading with a whaler- The coitiH, ‘dll in number, worn all silver, and ranged frnni a Id piece to aus piece, and 17fll lo IS.‘lO in date, and included English, Spanish and American pieces. A string of heads, an nld revolvin', a knife, and a shark's tooth of very large id/.0, and with a hole through it, were lilac uuiong tho collection.
