Liverpool’s Shipping Trade.
Some idea of the extent of the shipping trade of Liverpool can be gathered from the following record of large steamers that were in Canada Dock at that port on January 10th:—
White Star Line : Celtic, 21.000 tons; Oceanic, 17,500 tons; Majestic, 10,000 tons ; Africa, 12,000 tons; Cevic, 8,500 tons; Bovic, 0,000 tons ; Nomadic, S,(XX) tons ; total, 80,000 tons.
Cunard Line: Iver.iia, 13,500 tons ; Campania, 12,000 tons ; Litcania, 12,000 tons ; total £7,500 tons.
Laylttml Line: Wenifredian, 10,500 tons ; Austrian, 4,500 tons ; total, 15,000 tons.
Dominion Line : Now England, 12.500 tons.
Grand total, 134,500 tons. Average per ship, 10,340 tons.
