COMMERCIAL.

Moessrs Abraham and Williams report as follows:

Since last report we have had a very full catalogue of sales, including two large clearing sales at Mangato-io in conjunction with Mr W. Rose, on behalf of the Assets Realisation Board, and at Kumeroa on behalf of Mr Thomas Crosse.

At Mangatoro and Mr Cross?s’ sales we had large attendances. Great credit t is due to the managers -f the two estates for their perfect arrangements, ensured the success of the sales, onabling the large number of buyers to view the stock easily without crowding, and by giving them confidence that they. 1 would get exactly what they purchase. A large number of buyers were present from North and South, but in most j cases the stock was bought locally, and buyers from a distance went away disappointed. At Mangatoro the stock was of good quality but being mainly of Lincoln class they scarcely realised averaged values obtained at Mr Crosse’s eale which were of crossbred Leicester and Romney types ; lambs sold freely at both sales, but young ewes were keenly competed for. The shorthorn cattle offered at Mangatoro were of really good quality, and scarcely brought their values considering their breeding, but being all female stock they did not suit buyers. On the whole both sales were satisfactory, and a far better average of prices was obtained than at the ordinary . stock sales.
