Death of Two Boys.
The drowning of two Auokland sohoolboys named Pinson (brothers) while spending their holidays at Te Kopuru (Kaiparal was a very sad affair. They were to have arrived home last week, bat begged to be allowed to stay a few days longer. They had been accustomed to bathe in the Te Kopuru Creek in front of the house where they were staying. Both could swim fairly well. Just in front of the house the creek is boomed, the logs being chained so that they could not roll, and about fifteen feet there was what everyone would say was a perfectly safe place for boys to swim in. There was hardly any current. The boys left in the morning to go to the store and afterwards for a swim. Later on their clothes were seen on the beech, and on search being made tbe body of tbe elder boy was found just afloat with one leg on the shore, and that of the younger boy in the water, partly under the boom log. It was at once apparent that life had departed. Thero were no marks of violence on the bodies, except some very slight scratches on the cheek of the younger, whioh had been evidently made during life, as they were bleeding. At the inquest nothing further could be elicited as to the cause of the drowning, which remains an absolute mystery.
