PASTORAL PESTS.
By Telegraph— Press Association. Invercargill, Dec. 6. An occurrence at the saie of sheep skins yesterday indicates the necessity for stringent Government regulations. Among the lots sold was the skin of an Australian sheep slaughtered at sea for use on the intercolonial steamers. The wool of this skin was literally matted with Bathurst Burr and seed pods, and it is suggested such skins should be returned where they came from, and so prevent the spread of the worst pastoral pest in this colony.
