FIRE IN MARTON.
Advocate Office Destroyed. I Br Telegraph.— Press Association. Marton, This Day. The “ Advocate ” office and two buildings adjoining were totallydestroyed by fire last night. The fire originated in an upstair room of the Advocate office and spread to Laings shop and dwelling house on one side and Bishop's office on the other. The Advocate machine room, built of brick, resisted the fire. The Advocate loss amounts to about £BOO. The type and stock were insured in the S'andard for £SOO. Bishop s was insured in the New Zealand for £l5O and Lauig's for £BSO. The Advocate office was | valued at £SOO and insured for £2OO in the Standard and £l5O in the New Zealand. The Advocate will be brought out to-day as sufficient | type was saved with the help of the Eeilding office of the paper to go on with.
