LONDON WOOL SALES. Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., has received the following cable from its London office, datod Bth inst. : “ Wool.—Tho sales closed fairly well this day. Since clo3o of last sales greasy, vasliod and scoured Merino, superior, medium and inferior; and fine greasy, washed and scoured crossbreds aro par to Ad par lb. higher. Merino slipe and greasy Merino superior, medium and inferior are also par to Ail per lb. higher. Medium greasy, washed and scoured crossbred ; coarse greasy, washed and scoured crossbred ; crossbred slipe, and greasy crossbred lambs aro par to Jd peril), lower. The total quantity sold dur mg the past sales is 180,000 bales, of which 77,000 bales have been taken for the Continent and nil for America. Some 28,000 bales have been bold ovor for future disposal.”

Market irregular. Compared with closing rates of last London sales merino shows no change. Fine crossbred advanced a shade. Medium coarse crossbred declined 10 per cent. Inferior coarse crossbred declined 10 to 15 per cent. Small demand ; 28,080 hales held over. Wellington, 10th October, 1888.
