ESCAPE OF A BALLOON.
By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Per Press Association. Melbourne, December 27. A large balloon, which was being used for an ascent at the Exhibition to-day. escaped and collapsed over Hobson's Bay. Tlie balloon cost ,11200, and contained 40,000 ft. of gas when it got loose.
