Mr I’rydc then read n puDer on the tiiiomalies of railway freights and charges of distribution of goods, showing that it required a great change to bring the consumer and tlie producer together so as to make
products a source of revenue to the settlers. The speaker quoted extracts of charges from different parts of the colony, and also charges made in the Australaian colonies. He stated that his principal object was to see a general discussion on the subject, so that the matters mentioned might receive attention from the Farmer's Club. The only reduction really made by the Department was on fruit and vegetables. Mr Pryde also quoted the prices charged in N.S.W., and also the prices charged for delivery in the city, which was 6d up to 1-lOlbs, and Is up to 2ewt, and in dealing with packages anything could be sent not the same as in New Zealand with its hundred-and-one different classes which we were pestered with here. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Pryde and the Club promised to take action at once.

Mr James Perdue, an old soldier re siding at Monroe, Mich., was severe!} afflicted with rheumatism but received prompt relief from pain by using Chamberlain’s Pain Balm.
