Nominations for all events, excepting Maiden Hack Race, close with the Secretary at his office, Queen-street, Masterton, on Saturday, 13th November, 1897, at 9-30 p.m. Weights for the first day’s races will be declared on or before Saturday, 27th Novomber, 1897, at 9.30 p.m., and for the second day’s races on Thursday, 9th December, at 8 p.m. Acceptances for the first day’s races and entries for the Maiden Hack close with the secretary on Saturday, 4th December, 1897, at 9.30 p.m., and for the second day’s races on Thursday, December 9th, 1897, at 9 p.m. RULES AND REGULATIONS. All races to bo run under tho New Zealand Rules of Racing. Definition of a Hack : A hack is a horse that has never won an advertised race at any time, hack or hunter races excepted, and is not or has not been nominated in any race other than hack races at the same meeting.
