Mr Walker this morning and placed before them the decisions arrived at by the conference. Mr Walker said the establishment of labor farms contained one of the truest solutions of the charitable aid question and the Government weie cordially anxious to co-operate with the charitable aid Boards in that direction. Mr Seddon said the desire of the Government was to perfect the charitable aid system. He thought there should be wider representation of charitable aid boards and was of opinion that the law respecting wife desertion should be made so drastic that cases would become few and far between. The representations made by the deputation would be placed before the Cabinet.
