Ottawa, August 2G. The Duke do Abruczzi, a member «f the Italian Royal House, ascended Mount St Elias, one of the highest [teaks m the north-west territory of Canada.
The party reached an altitude of 18,lCH* Get, and were 51 days midst ice and snow.
Mount St Elias is a great toleauie mountain on the borders of Canada and Alaska. It stands m a wild aud inaccessible region, and is clothed almost from base to summit with eternal snow. In 1 sa-b a [tarty reached a height of 7200 ft on the mount, but the Italian party lias far eclipsed this feat.
