The Cup Matches.

Pahiatua v. Danevirke. The first Cup match of the season between Pahiatua and Danevirke was played at Woodville on Saturday and resulted in an easy win for Pahiatua by an innings and 49 runs. Tho batting of Chambers was faultless, his score of 58 being compiled without giving a single chance. T. Hewat, Reeve and Maclosky also showed good cricket for 19, 15, and 10 respectively. The wicketkeeping of T. Hewat was much admired. The Pahiatua team were playing six emergencies, and Danevirke had to play several substitutes. Mr T.
