To Stand the Season in the Woodville, Eketahuna and surrounding district THE PUREBRED STALLION DIOHEDES, I>v Totara out of Plover, by Sir 3 Hercules, sire of those wellknown horses Auroa, Pride of the Hills, Lonely, Evelyn, Silvertail, Mashseer, Princess, Euclid, Aoranga, Awatuna, Alecto, besides scores of hunters and valuable carriage horses Diomedes is winner of four first prizes, beating all comers as a carriage stallion at the Hawera Show ; also first prize at Wanganui for the sire best calculated to improve the breed of saddle horses. For further particulars apply to groom in charge. Diomedes will bo in Pahiatua on Monday and Wednesday evenings; Eketanun on Tuesdays. The rest of the week in W oodville.

King Salisbury is a massive horse with immense bone of the finest quality, abundant hair of the right sort, and combining fine quality and perfect symmetry with great power, is of a rich brown color, with four white stockings, good sound feet, and stands well on his legs. Height, 16 hands a inches. Bred by Mr R. Charters, of Taieri, out of Glasgow Maggie by Lord Salisbury (see pedigree cards). Lord Salisbury was never beaten as a prize-taker in Scotland or New Zealand, and Glasgow Maggie is reputed the best mare in New Zealand. TERMS. —Single mare, £3 on service ; £3 10s by P.N. due Ist January ; two or more mares of the same owner as per agreement; groomage, 2s 6d. Good paddocking free for mares during service.
