Wellington, This Day. lathe Legislative Council the Insurance Companies’ Deposit Bill passed its final stages. The Public Works Bill was read a second time on the voices. In committee on the Government Advances to Ssttlers Bill ths maximum amount to he advanced under tiie Bill was redussd to £IOOO, and it was decided shat advances should he made up to one half ths value of the land instead of twothirds. This amendment. Sir Patrick Buekley said, would kill the Bill. Progress was then reported.
