Heavy Weather. Waipawa, This Day Snow fell in Waipawa yesterday and to-day, the first fall in six years. It is three inches deep on the Takapau plains. Woodville, This Day. A severe storm with cold weather was experienced here on Saturday and Sunday. The snow lies on the hills to a low level. It is feared the result will be serious to sheepfarmeas, so far as the lambing season is concerned. Auckland, This Day. Phenomenally severe weather prevailed on Saturday and yesterday. A snow fall in the afternoon was an unusual experience for Auckland. The weather is the severest felt in the city for twenty years. A Second Mrs Yates. Auckland, This Day. Mrs Endan has decided to contest the Grafton ward for the Gity Council notwithstanding that Mr Powley has withdrawn his promise to retire in her favor, which he asserts was a joke. Fire in Wellington. Wellington, This Day. A fire completely destroyed the shop and dwelling of J. Griffiths, pawnbroker, in Courtenay Place, early thin morning. A nine-roomed house adjoining, occupied by Mrs Speed, was partly burned. Griffiths’ place was insured for £BOO.
