Meyer followed his kiok and passing the opposing backs orossed the line after kioking the ball over but failed to touch down. Williams kicked off for Eketahuna and the ball was immediately taken into the Tutaekara 25’s where, after a good deal of scrimmaging, A. Lucena relieved his side by a long punt up the field. After a certain amount of give and take J. Lucena kicked the ball over the Eketahuna line and following up smartly looked like scoring but the ball struck a spectator and was declared dead. Eketahuna woke up and pressed Tutaekara closely until half time but without scoring.

In the second spell Nickolson kicked off for Eketahuna and the forwards following up quickly looked like scoring but the back play of Tutaekara proved too strong and they were prevented from scoring. Tutaekara now endeavoured to score, and, from a series of scrums, managed to work the ball iuto the opposing 25’s, where Ross 1 kioked into touch about five yards from the liue. From the line out Wollan got the ball and crossed the line but the ball was called back for hand ball and a sorum ordered five yards from the line. Both teams worked like Trojans and the whistle was going Incessantly to renew the scrum. L. Brown secured the ball and was grassed just outside the line. If falling ho threw the ball forward and a fresh scrum was ordered at the usual five yards when J. Wolland secured and transferred the ball to J. Lucena who fell over the line and scored a try for Tutaekara, amidst oheers loud and long. A. Lucena took the kick from a difficult angle but the score was not increased. F.
