Wellington, This Day. The manager of the Goldsmith’s Hall Company, which was robbed on Friday, has informed the Inspector of Police that the first estimate of the missing jewellery was greatly exaggerated, and a close inspection showed that the loss does not exceed £500; and he added that when the stock was taken the lesser amount may still be reduced. A strong southerly gale set in on Sunday evening accompanied by fierce rain squalls. Justice Richmond in the Bankruptcy Court said he intended to assert the principle that bankrupts should pay some* thing to creditors and not get off scott free ; and in two small estates he ordered the applicants to pay £2O each.
