A meeting of the committee of tho Pa hiatua Jockey Club was held last evening. Present —Messrs Tosswill (in the chair), Gault, A. Stewart, Gelderd, I>. Knight. Several accounts were passed for payment. Tho ground committee were requested to report on fencing and gracing course with a view to having course fenced on both sides. It was decided to post several defaulties, who had not paid nomination fee in connection with the late races. Tho Government are calling tenders for the erection of the Post Office and Courthouse in Pnhiatua. Hot pies and coffee may be had at Mrs Wall’s shop every Saturday evening. A Pahiatua County notice will bo found in another column. Miss Petrie announces that she has recommenced business in rooms at the residence of Mrs J. C. Taylor, Main street.
