' Alfred May, a burglar, was shot 1 dead by John M'Kay, at Port Melbourne, while in the act of robbing the latter's shop. The jury found M'Kay justified. Great consternation has been created among the Trade Unionists and members of the Typographical Association by the announcement that SO compositors on the Sydney Daily Telegraph have received a month’s notice because the directors intend introducing type-setting machinery. !
